Roy Naik, son of Ponda MLA Ravi Naik has, for the second time, skipped summons issued to him for questioning by the Special Investigation Team in the illegal mining case.
Naik has already filed for anticipatory bail before the Panaji sessions court fearing arrest by the Special Investigation Team probing the illegal mining case.
The SIT sought two weeks to file its reply but was however given only till February 21 to file its reply to Naik’s petition.
Naik is expected to be summoned once again to remain present before the investigating officer in the investigation.
The Special Investigation Team investigating the role of Roy Naik in main mining case said he was wanted for interrogation to confront him with available evidence.
The Special Investigating Team probing the illegal mining case had issued summons to Roy Naik the son of Ponda MLA Ravi Naik to appear before the investigating officers on February 9 at 11am.
Naik had failed to heed the summons.
The SIT has made several arrests and has called several persons including former Chief Minister and current Margao MLA Digambar Kamat as part of its probe in the illegal mining case.
