Goa recorded 6.94 lakh tourist arrivals in July 2026, registering a 2.27 per cent growth over the corresponding month last year, even as the State witnessed steady tourist movement during the monsoon season.
As per the latest data released by the tourism department, the State received 61.38 lakh tourists between January and July 2026, marking an overall growth of 0.08 per cent compared to the same period in 2025.
Of the total arrivals during the first seven months, 59.02 lakh were domestic tourists, while 2.36 lakh were international visitors.
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said the figures reflected Goa’s resilience as a tourism destination, while stressing the need to diversify tourism offerings and markets.
He said the government was focusing on wellness, heritage, MICE, adventure, nautical, spiritual and gastronomic tourism, besides workation, to attract visitors beyond traditional beach holidays.
Director of Tourism Kedar Naik said the July figures were significant as they indicated continued demand during the monsoon, traditionally considered an off-peak period. He said the State had been promoting monsoon tourism and experience-led travel centred on Goa’s hinterland, culture, wellness, cuisine, nature and adventure.
The government expects tourist arrivals to gain further momentum in the second half of the year with the upcoming festive, leisure, MICE and international travel seasons.
