The workers manning the canal also failed to keep a watch and monitor the canal and the irregularities happening along the way. “We hardly get any water to irrigate our fields. The authorities must take action so that we are not deprived of the facility,” a Gram Sabha member said. According to former sarpanch Ladu Kubal, there were six workers on the dam but they don’t supervise the canal. The Gram Sabha then decided to write to the WRD demanding a supervisor for irrigation canal from the Amthane dam to Pirna.
Another Gram Sabha member disclosed that some people used gelatin sticks to blast and extract stones from a quarry in Kulan.
Fearing damage to the canal and the houses in the area, locals have prayed for government’s intervention to stop the blasting activity in the area.
The Gram Sabha passed a resolution to install speed breakers and sign boards at various spots in the village.
A new panchayat ghar is being constructed in a property, which does not have a proper approach road. The panchayat resolved to build a new road in the area.
A budget of Rs 44.54 lakh was passed for the new financial year of 2016-17.
