Vasudev Shetye, Nodal Officer for Pernem under Swayampurna Goa Mission focused on growing variety of vegetables within their fences to cater their daily needs and also to sell agriculture produce to nearby areas so that one can self-sustain and become part of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
He emphasised the need of missions like Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa, across the nation to achieve the motto of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Shetye was speaking at a self-help group workshop at Village Panchayat, Ozari in Pernem, recently. Present on the occasion were Agriculture Officer Dhiraj Parab and Minesh Tar Swayampurna Mitra and Sangita Gaonkar, Deputy Sarpanch Block resource person and member Kartik Naik and others.
Highlighting the benefits of local chicken farming which have a very good demand in the market, Shetye urged the women of Ozarim VP to create a mark for them by undertaking such farming activities.
Citing the importance of the green revolution in the State, Agriculture Officer Dhiraj Parab said people should indulge in agriculture activities.
