CANACONA
Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tavadkar has been elected chairman of the organising committee of the official Shigmo festival in Canacona on March 21.
Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Ramakant Naik Gawkar has been elected as Chairman of the reception committee, while Babesh Borkar, President of Canacona Patrakar Sangh and social worker, has been elected as Working President.
The Canacona Municipal Council had convened a special meeting at the Disaster Shelter Home at Nagarcem on Thursday to elect the committee.
CMC Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar was present at the meeting.
The other committee members elected were Sarvanand Bhagat (Secretary), Subhash Mahale and Vishal Desai (Joint Secretary), Councillor Sara Desai (Treasurer), Vinay Tubki (Asst Treasurer), CMC Dy Chairperson Laxuman Pagi, Councillor Shubham Komarpant, Loliem-Polem Dy Sarpanch Chandrakant Sudhir, Zilla Panchayat Members Shobhana Velip and Shanu Velip (Vice-Presidents).
