The Town and Country Planning (TCP) department on Tuesday finally revoked the technical clearance issued for the construction of a residential house, swimming pool and compound at Gandaulim-Colva which had witnessed an uproar
last week, with directions to stop the construction work at the site.
In his order revoking the technical clearance, Deputy Town Planner Ritesh Shirodkar observed that the construction of a residential house is already undertaken at the plot under reference, whereas as per applications submitted by the party, it was stated that it is a proposed construction, while it should have been an application for regularization of the residential house.
Moreover, he stated in the revocation order that a metallic structure has been constructed in the plot, which is not shown in the plans submitted for the issuance of the technical clearance.
It was further mentioned in the revocation order that the existing nullah in the property is not shown on the site plan submitted for issue of the technical clearance, while adding that a gate has been constructed which blocks the access to the existing residential house violating one of the conditions.
Saying that the clarifications submitted by the party are unsatisfactory, the Deputy Town Planner referred to a condition in the technical clearance which states that permission granted shall be revoked, if any information, plans, calculations, documents and any other attachments of the applications are found incorrect or wrong at any stage after the grant of the permission. The TCP action comes following a complaint received from Mangala Pednekar regarding the blockage of access to the existing house in the land in question.
Local villagers, including the panch members, had taken up cudgels for Mangala Pednekar, by demanding revocation of the technical clearance since the project has been mooted without resolving the mundcarial issues raised by the woman.
