PONDA: Challenging the Vedanta company to ply a single truck for ore transportation, the All Goa Truck Owners Association (AGTTA) has warned the company of consequences if they engage trucks other that those operated by the association.
Addressing a news conference, AGTTA president Nilkanth Gawas on Wednesday said: “The company is trying to engage trucks by giving false assurances. They are also spreading rumour that if truckers fail to engage trucks, then they will ply their own trucks. I challenge them to do so and see what happens next,” Gawas, now a Congressman, warned.
Meanwhile, Curchorem police arrested 56 agitators for allegedly damaging five trucks engaged in transportation of e-auctioned ore at Cuddegal-Dabal on Wednesday morning.
