MARGAO
The South Goa district hospital witnessed an uproar late Monday night after Covid patients and citizens demanded streamlining of the system at the casualty.
The Fatorda police were called in by the hospital to avert any law and order situation.
A citizen pointed out that he had to wait at the district hospital for close to eight hours with the X-ray report for the consultant to give his opinion. Another citizen said the government should deploy additional doctors and officials to ensure they attend to patients and citizens.
“The doctors are either in the casualty or wards. There’s neither any doctor around to guide the patients who are waiting with their reports nor citizens get answers to their queries. We know the situation is bad, but there should be someone to answer to our queries,” remarked a citizen.
