PANAJI: Students as well as the general public will be allowed a free entry on the final day of DefExpo -- March 31.
A decision in this regard was taken in New Delhi between the Chief Secretary and Defence Ministry officials on Thursday.
Schools will be asked to send a list of students who will attend the DefExpo and the students with valid identity card will be given free access on the last day. Besides this the general public will also be allowed within the venue on the last day provided they have valid identity proof, sources have said.
The Defence Ministry usually charges a fee of ₹500 per person to non delegates to enter the venue of the DefExpo when the festival is being held in Delhi.
“Defence Ministry has allowed locals free entry on March 31 which is the last day of the four-day event scheduled in South Goa. The locals can show their identity cards and enter on the last day free of cost,” Parsekar told the legislative assembly.
The event will be held from March 28 to 31 at the Betul Naqueri plateau.
