Raging bull in Sancoale

Bureaucratic formalities appear to have taken precedence over the capture of a raging bull which attacked and injured three people at Combelem near Sancoale Panchayat on Saturday.
When contacted over the action taken in catching the bull, Verna Police said the department had written to the Mormugao Deputy Collector to request the forest department to nab the bull.
Asked if these bureaucratic procedures would come in the way in nabbing the bull to avoid similar attacks, police said they were following the procedure.
When contacted, Deputy Conservator of Forests Anil Shetgaonkar said he was on leave on Monday and said he would find out from his office if any compliant has been received in the matter.
Shetgaonkar, however, could not give any assurance if the bull would be nabbed soon to avoid a similar situation, but only added that the bull has to be tranquillized.
It may be recalled that three people, Marissa D'Souza, Lawrence Fernandes and Peter Fernandes from Combelem-Sancoale were attacked by the bull on Saturday. While Marissa was discharged from GMC Hospital after first aid, both Lawrence and Peter are still in a critical state.
According to a local resident, Agustino Fernandes, the bull was seen around the police station on Monday morning, but disappeared from the site, raising fears among local residents.
