BJP legislator Nilesh Cabral hit back at the Congress, which on Monday had termed the current government as ‘headless’ saying that the Congress which itself has been finding it difficult to appoint a state party president had no moral authority to tell the BJP what to do.
Addressing a press conference, Cabral also said that it was not unheard of for a state to run when the CM was indisposed and cited articles of the Constitution to buttress his case.
“The Congress cannot appoint its own president after so many days. How can they say we are headless. There is no doubt that if Parrikar was here, the situation would have been better and we would have got a dynamic boost, but it is not that the government is not functioning. Under CAC, progress is going on fantastically well, lots of decisions are taken, schemes are going well,” Cabral said.
Cabral, who had a few weeks ago expressed his disappointment with the reaction of the government in the aftermath of the ban on mining, sought to refute the Congress allegations that the CAC was not meeting often enough.
“They also made allegations that the CAC does not meet. They have not brought any instances where the functioning of the government is not taking place,”
Cabral said.
