Accusing the State government of having failed miserably in handling the Covid situation in Goa, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said VIPs were getting treated in private hospitals while the common man was forced to sleep on stretchers or the floor in health centres.
“The very fact that a growing number of Covid patients prefer home isolation indicates that people have lost faith in the State administration.”
“MLAs and other political leaders are getting treatment in private hospitals, while other Covid patients who get admitted in government hospitals are forced to sleep on stretchers or the floor for want of beds.”
“Further, there is no guarantee of good treatment in government hospitals and hence, people prefer to die at home rather than in government hospitals,” said Khaunte.
