A child and a teenager were killed while five others were injured, when a car rammed into a roadside tree at Mapa-Panchawadi on Monday.
According to police, the car was travelling from Paaj-Shiroda to Rivona to drop some relatives. Mahadev Naik and his family from Paaj-Shiroda had gone to Shirdi and returned late Sunday night.
On Monday morning, Mahadev Naik and his family were travelling to Rivona to drop their relatives, when the driver lost control of the car and the vehicle dashed against a roadside tree at Mapa.
All seven in the car were injured and were taken to the Curchorem Primary Health Centre in a 108 ambulance. However, Siddham Mahadev Naik (11) from Paaj was declared dead on arrival, while Resham Rajendra Naik (18) from Rivona, who was taken to Goa Medical College Hospital for further treatment and died in the evening.
