MARGAO
While making a call to all the 40 MLAs as well as party MLAs to sink differences and attend the Save Mhadei rally at Sanquelim rally on Monday, Aam Admi party Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas has said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should take the lead by tendering resignation if the Centre does not pay heed to the voice of Goa and withdraw the DPR.
If the Chief Minister and the BJP MLAs take the lead in tendering resignation from the membership of the Goa Legislative Assembly, the opposition MLAs will also follow suit.
“This is the threat the Chief Minister and the ruling party MLAs should give to the party leadership in Delhi to either withdraw the DPR or face action from the Goa unit”, he said.
Saying the Save Mhadei issue is apolitical in nature, Venzy said all the parties, including the RG, MGP and the ruling BJP should join the Monday rally to save Mhadei. “We should not wait for Mhadei to go dry or the river Mandovi to run dry. The river Sal is affected with water flowing from the Springs at Verna are slowly disappearing. Let us keep our politics aside. This is not the time to do politics. if the DPR is not revoked by the centre, let us all rise together to save Goa and Mhadei”, he said.
He reminded Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that Mhadei will not be solved in a legal way and he has to tell the party leadership in Delhi if they don’t withdraw the DPR, the MLAs are ready to resign enmasse.
“Opposition leader Yuri Alemao has announced that the CM should take the lead in quitting the Assembly. Let the government collapse in Goa over Mhadei. This is the kind of threat the Chief Minister should send out to the BJP leadership in Delhi”, he added.
Asked whether his call to the MLAs and former MLAs to join includes Benaulim outgoing MLA, Venzy said all the ex and former MLAs should come out and join the rally to save Mhadei.
