Gov’s address to kick off Assembly session today

PANAJI: The address of the Governor PS Shreedharan Pillai, articulating the State government’s performance over the past year and before will kick off proceedings of the budget session of the Legislative Assembly on Friday.

The six working days session has over 1,300 questions posed to the government by the MLAs, legislature department sources said. 

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is also slated to present the 2024-25 State budget on February 8.

The schedule of the session was tweaked to accommodate the visit of PM Narendra Modi on February 6. There will be no business transacted on this day which is postponed to February 10. Five private member’s resolutions will come up for consideration of the House on Friday (February 9).
