Amid the pandemic induced gloomy economic scenario, the State's Investment Board clearing seven new projects in its meeting on Monday brought some cheer for Goa Inc.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said seven projects, besides three more proposals for expansion of existing units will bring in a consolidated Rs 2,228 crore of investment.
Together, these 10 proposals have an employment generation potential of over 5000 jobs, a late evening statement from the CMO said.
"The projects cleared are from various industrial sectors in manufacturing , service, food processing, hospitality and pharmaceutical,” the CMO statement adds.
Meanwhile, the State government is in the process of further tweaking the rules to fast track projects under IPB aimed at streamlining the process of bringing multiple departments on a single platform.
The Industries Minister said, the government will lay emphasis on attracting sectors that generate jobs and increase GST revenue.
