Pernem police arrest Bengaluru native with drugs worth Rs 20,000

Pernem Police has arrested one Bengaluru native with illegal possession of charas and ganja.

According to PI Jivba Dalvi, information was received from reliable sources that one person was involved in drug activities at Arambol, Pernem. 

Later on Sunday, police traced the accused person at banyan tree, Arambol and conducted a surprise raid during which the narcotics drug charas and ganja were found to be in his possession.

The substance was immediately seized and taken into custody under the panchanama. The seized drugs are worth Rs 20,000 in the international market. 

The accused person has been identified as Keltsang Dorjee, 41, a native of Bengaluru, Karnataka. 

The raid was conducted from 9 pm to 11 pm.

An offence under section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act has been registered.

The raid was conducted by PI Jivba Dalvi and consisted of PSI Sanjit Kandolkar,  HC Chandrakant Parsekar, police constables Anishkumar Poke, Ravi Mahloji, Gajanan Sawant and Vishnu Gad.

Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Gajanan Prabhudessai and SP NORTH Utkrisht Prasoon IPS.
