The Special Investigation Team (SIT) once again arrested land grabbing mastermind Mohammed Suhail, barely 24 hours after he was granted bail by a local court in a fifth case of land fraud registered against him.He is arrested for the sixth time followed by kingpin Rajkumar Maithi, who was put behind the bars four times. Suhail, was first arrested on June 22 when he confessed to the investigating team of forging documents and conniving with government officials to illegally change the ownership documents.
He was earlier involved in three similar cases which were registered at the Porvorim police station in 2013. The case was charge-sheeted before Mapusa court. Another case was registered against him in 2018 and is pending trial before the Panaji court while a third FIR was filed by Mapusa police, and the trial is underway.
