ANC makes huge drug haul

The Anti-Narcotic Cell of the Goa police has made one of the biggest drug hauls of the year. It has arrested R. Mohana Sundaram, a native of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in a raid conducted on August 29 in small Vagator, Anjuna, seizing drugs worth Rs 7.5 lakhs.

The arrested was in procession of 451 LSD papers weighing5.9 grams, 14.1 gram of Ketamine and 3.3 grams of Charas all worth Rs 7,55,900 inthe international market.

An offence has been registered in the ANC police stationunder section 20(b)(ii)(A) & 22(c) of NDPS Act, 1985 against the accusedperson; LPSI Vidhya Pagui is investigating the case. The ANC team consisted ofPI Suraj Halarnkar who has recently taken the charge of ANC police station,LPSI Vidhya Pagui, PSI Somnath Mahajik and others.

The ANC is still recovering after its own personnel werefound to have had links with the drug mafia and sheltering drug curtail in thecoastal belt of Goa. It may be also recalled that more than 10 police personnelincluding a PI and a PSI were arrested by police and are presently undersuspension with five of them still behind bars.

Parrikar govt plans action against Kamat in mines recruitment case

In what could spell trouble for former Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, the present Manohar Parrikar government has asked the ACB to file a criminal complaint for alleged irregularities in job recruitments of the Mines department, which was then headed by Kamat.
