Abuse of elders is deeply disturbing

The heartbreaking incident in Betalbatim, where an 85-year-old senior citizen was allegedly assaulted daily by his own son and daughter-in-law, has shaken the conscience of many. The abuse came to light after his daughter in the UK witnessed it through CCTV footage, leading to public outrage and swift intervention. My sincere appreciation goes to the Goa Police for their prompt action in registering an FIR and arresting the accused. I also commend the concerned citizens who stepped forward to help the helpless elderly man. Parents dedicate their lives to raising their children with unconditional love and sacrifice. They cared for us when we were helpless, without complaint or expectation. How can anyone raise a hand against the very people who gave them life?  Elders' abuse and the growing trend of abandoning parents in old-age homes are deeply disturbing. Every child should remember that one day they too will grow old. The respect, care, and compassion we show our parents today are the values the next generation will learn from us.
