Indian students will no longer need to travel abroad to receive a world-class education. Fifteen leading international universities are set to establish campuses in India, with academic sessions likely to begin in August of the current academic year. Students enrolled at these campuses will receive the same degree awarded by the parent university. Importantly, this degree will carry the same international recognition as one earned at the university's overseas campus. Since students will save significantly on living expenses abroad, world-class education will become more accessible to middle-class families. The same academic standards, curriculum, and faculty requirements followed by these universities in their home countries will also be maintained at their Indian campuses.
Under the new regulatory framework, 15 foreign universities have been issued Letters of Intent. Students will also avoid the high costs of international travel, accommodation, and expensive overseas tuition fees. As a result, globally recognized education will become available in India at a comparatively lower cost. This marks a significant step forward for India's higher education sector and is expected to create brighter opportunities for students across the country.
