Vinay Dwivedi, Benaulim
Recently AI-powered cameras mounted on traffic lights were installed at the Maria Hall crossing in Benaulim. But most of the time only the blinking amber light is visible. The signal seems to work only during the afternoons, leading, in fact, to more traffic congestion owing to the road shoulder being encroached by fish sellers, pork sellers and green grocers.
I fear that vehicle owners might get faulty challans generated by the surveillance cameras. The government needs to get its act right and think through everything properly before rolling out such claptrap.
