I am a frequent visitor to Margao Post Office but my heart sinks every time I enter the building. The interior has such a decrepit air about it: dusty walls, missing false ceiling tiles, dirty fans, peeling paint, leaking roof, untidy piles of files, etc.
Instead of spending money on useless religious events, the government should refurbish the Portuguese-era PO building used by hundreds of citizens every day. A humble request.

The Margao Municipal Garden and its boundary wall seem to have become the favourite hangout of loiterers, vagrants and beggars. At any given time of the day and night you would find them infesting the lawns or sleeping or sitting on the boundary wall outside.In the evenings you also see drunkards, gamblers and other anti-social elements ruling the roost. This has been a long-standing problem. Can the government do something about it? Perhaps modifying the design of the flat…
