Can lessons be learnt from the mining case to stop the massive real estate destruction of Goa; now with the criminal nexus between many real state entities and corrupt Goan politicians.
It’s estimated that minimum of 25 to 30 MLAs in the current Goa assembly are full time real estate agents/brokers who are misusing their power big time as elected representative to reap huge amount of illegitimate profits via real estate ( mainly via deals with money bags from outside Goa) ! In fact I think real estate is their top priority vs being responsible MLAs to deliver proper service to the citizens. Goa’s water tables are reducing, pollution increasing, hills/forests/wildlife being decimated and the destructors are getting even more audacious to maximize their personal/family wealth. I also strongly believe that many ex-opposition MLAs who jumped to the BJP, did so to ensure their real estate destruction continues easily with BJP govt support. By checkmating these “real estate” politicians perhaps politics can get more cleaner in Goa; in addition to possibly saving Goa for posterity.
