The dangers posed to commuters and pedestrians at the traffic junction in Chinchinim is yet to be resolved. The traffic cell under direction from the Deputy Collector had taken note of dangers posed to students and church goers at Chinchinim. A survey was taken two months back to install sign boards, zebra crossings, no parking boards and speed breakers.
A serious accidents had taken place at that junction just before inspection. The delay in implementing suggestions is not understandable. Some of the vehicles arriving at a commercial complex in the area are parked on the road, endangering the safety of others. The Panchayat needs to act on the issue at the earliest.
At Dandeavaddo, two huge tress within 10 metres of each other came crashing down just a few hours apart. This led to a disruption in the flow of traffic and also interrupted the power supply. It was a miracle that no lives were lost or any vehicles damaged in the incident. An email warning the authorities about the danger posed by the trees had been ignored.
