Goa had to be content as runners-up after being stunned by a 0 - 1 defeat to Services who lifted the Santosh Trophy title for the seventh time, in the 77th National Football Championship for the Santosh trophy at the Golden Jubilee Stadium, Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. Well, our boys should not have conceded that important goal in the 67th minute, should have defended well and have gone to take a lead in the very first half itself to make things easy for themselves and to defeat the opposite team. Unfortunately, they took things very lightly, wasted too many golden chances/opportunities and despite of playing their hearts out, especially after conceding that important goal, they could do absolutely nothing to equalise or to come back in the game and to defeat the Services team in the finals. Anyway, the boys still need to be congratulated for making Goans proud by putting up a splendid show throughout the tournament and for successfully reaching the finals of the Santosh trophy after a gap of almost seven years.
