It is sad that the niz goenkar has lost their business after the renovation of Dona Paula jetty due to the entry fee taken by the contractor at the gate. On the other side outsiders want a entry to do business which has made the traditional businessmen angry. Dona Paula jetty is famous as a lovers paradise which has been given new look with beautiful view. The statue of Dona Paula which is on the rocks is ignored by the government of Goa, tourism minister and the contractors where we can see with our eyes that the statue is fully cracked and needs to be replaced with a new one. This place is given the name of both the lovers after the tragedy and the saddest thing is that they have forgotten to replace the statue which is admired by tourists. Remember the famous Konkani song Dona Paul, Dona Paul by our melody singer Alfred Rose. Requesting our CM Pramod Sawant, tourism minister and the local MLA Babush Monserrate to help and support our Goans who have been doing their business on jetty for years. Their problems need to be solved at the earliest.
