In order to curb reckless riding, the South Goa Police have reportedly announced plans to initiate action against delivery agents working for online food delivery platforms, who are speeding on roads and endangering other motorists. It is learnt that the police have conducted a sensitization programme for delivery boys. Additionally, the police have carried out an enforcement drive to crack down on overspeeding among delivery agents. It is also for citizens who have ordered food through food online delivery platforms not to insist on getting the delivery in quick time. Be that as it may, there are probably fewer incidents of road accidents involving food delivery personnel as compared to accidents involving tourists riding rent-a-bike vehicles. There have been several videos that have gone viral which show tourists riding rental bikes indulging in stunts on the roads. These tourists do not follow the traffic rules and ride the vehicles in gay abandon. What is also necessary is to sensitize those engaged in rent-a-bike business about traffic rules. These tourists riding rent-a-bike vehicles probably pose more danger to the general public than food delivery agents.
