Those who don't understand selfish politics should know that 'conflict of interest' arises when you are required to make a decision in your official capacity when you have a private interest in the matter and is able to personally benefit from that position legislating or ruling on a particular matter.
In today's world, some selfish-minded people put their personal interest ahead of their public service responsibility so that they earn side by side for their honorary services thereby posing as clean. But the mind set is, nothing comes free "I am business-minded and will not give my time for free".
