A 34-year-old labourer from Jharkhand died after falling ill in Bicholim on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Bhuli Turi (34), a native of Bhendra, Nawadih Bokaro, Jharkhand, who was residing at a house in Dhatwada, Latambarcem, Usap, Bicholim.
According to Bicholim Police, the Bicholim CHC informed the police at around 6.10 pm that Suresh Turi had been brought dead to the hospital.
Following the information, Bicholim Police registered Unnatural Death (U.D.) No. 50/2026 under Section 194 of the BNSS and initiated an inquiry.
During the inquiry, the contractor of the deceased stated that Suresh had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Pirna.
On Sunday morning, he complained of pain in his leg and was taken to CHC Bicholim, where he was examined and discharged at around 10.30 am.
Later, at about 2 pm, he complained of severe stomach pain and difficulty in passing urine. He was immediately shifted to CHC Bicholim in a private vehicle, where the attending Medical Officer declared him brought dead.
The body has been preserved at the GMC Morgue, Bambolim, for post-mortem examination. Further medico-legal formalities are in progress. The investigation is being carried out by PSI Viraj Dhauskar of Bicholim Police Station.
