Political observers are trying to figure out whether Saxtti is heading for a battle between Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai and Aam Aadmi Party vocal MLA Venzybab Viegas. Both have been engaged in a war of words in recent days on a host of issues. That the duo now seemed bracing up for a showdown became evident when Vijaibab tweeted that the CM has procured an opposition MLA to sing his praises and have been cheating Tarvoti and families. Fresh from a recent bout with none other than PWD Minister Nileshbab Cabral, the irrepressible Venzy has hit back, saying the lone MLA procured by the BJP in 2017 is now trying to wash his sins.

Leader of Opposition Yuribab Alemao may be a worried lot over the differences surfacing in the opposition camp, with Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai and Aam Aadmi Party MLA Venzybab Viegas locking horns just ahead of the Assembly session. How he would manage the inherent contradictions in the opposition camp remains to be seen. Guess how many amongst the Saxtti politicos have turned Santa Claus this Christmas season? Nothing much has been heard of politicos around Saxtti countryside this time round, with most of the politicians believed maintaining low profile. In the run up to the 2022 Assembly polls, many a Saxtti politicos, the heavyweights and their challengers, had donned the role of Santa Claus, doling out goodies and sponsors to their supporters and workers, apparently to keep them in good humour ahead of the electoral battle. Cong scouts for right candidate for Margao, Nuvem blocks
Will the Congress manage to scout the right candidate to head the Margao and Nuvem blocks before curtains come down on the year 2022? This question should certainly stare at GPCC chief Amitbab Patkar since the party is yet to constitute these two blocks post-defection by Congress-turned-BJP MLAs Diggu and Aleixobab Sequeira. While Amitbab has put in place a number of blocks and the party High Command constituting the long-delayed panels, questions are being raised in party circles why the party has taken time to constitute the Margao and Nuvem blocks. Is it because the party has still not zeroed in on the right candidate or is Team Amit treading a cautious path post-defections. Only time will tell.
Politicos’ hoardings in Salcete go missing for Christmas, New Year
The High Court order on illegal hoardings seemed to have come as a dampener for politicos this ensuing Christmas and New Year festivities. Reason: With curbs imposed on hoardings by the district authorities, politicos have found themselves in a tight spot. With banners and hoardings dotting the city and Saxtti countryside in the past, with politicos engaged in a game of one-upmanship to outwit each other to extend greetings to their constituents, the hoardings seemed conspicuous by their absence, more due to confusion at the local bodies over the nature of restrictions imposed by the authorities.
