Will Saxtti finally get a representation in the BJP-led Pramodbab Sawant government? Perhaps for the first time since the saffron party came to power in the State around two decades ago, the minority stronghold has not found a representation in the BJP-led government. During his stint as Chief Minister, late Manoharbhai Parrikar saw to it that Saxtti got a representation in his cabinet. Former BJP CM Laxmikantbab Parsekar too gave representation for Saxtti in his cabinet. The minority dominated taluka had a representation in incumbent CM Pramodbab Sawant’s cabinet, the first time he assumed office after Parrikar’s demise. Wait and watch.
Fatordekars seek answers on action against online casinos
It’s a week now since curtains came down on the session of the Goa Legislative Assembly. Fatordekars may seek to know whether the online casino gambling dens in Fatorda are still operating or shut down post-Assembly session. For, the casinos had echoed in the Legislative Assembly when Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai threatened to take up the issue with Union Home Ministry. Has Vijaibab’s threat changed the ground reality or will the Fatorda MLA execute his threat and knock the doors of Union Home Ministry if casino gambling is not shut in his backyard. Wait and watch.
Saffron flag flies high for first time outside Aleixo’s residence
Perhaps for the first time in his political career spanning three decades, a saffron flag must have flown high outside the residence of Congress-turned-BJP Nuvem MLA Aleixobab Sequeira. It’s not that the Nuvem MLA has fallen in love with the BJP flag. But, the saffron flag made its presence felt at Aleixobab’s residence, but for a different reason “ his Raia residence falls in the neighbouring Curtorim constituency. BJP leaders and workers, who came to his residence with the BJP flag to commemorate Party’s Foundation Day, all hailed from Curtorim Mandal and not from Nuvem. Any questions?
When Moreno sought RGP help to checkmate Reginaldo
Congress leader Morenbab Rebello’s call to the Revolutionary Goans to join hands with the Congress to checkmate Independent MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco makes reading interesting. Morenbab’s plea for unity is understandable given that a division of votes has benefitted Reginaldbab, the supporting partner of ruling BJP-government, political observers, however, may have a question or two to ask “ Does Morenbab’s appeal for unity reflects the party’s opinion and whether the Congress is ready for a tie-up with outfits across the State who made big inroads in the party’s vote bank in 2022. Questions indeed remain unanswered.
Cong leader wary of challenge in bouncing back to victory
Former Minister Joaquimbab Alemao seemed happy over son Yuri’s performance in the House as Leader of Opposition. Joaquimbab is aware that Yuri’s consistency in the Assembly has won him accolades from many quarters. None other than the former two-time Cuncolim MLA, however, knows for sure that the Congress is facing a challenge of sorts to bounce back in the scheme of things after the party’s debacle in 2022, followed by the defection of eight Congress MLAs. Indeed time for introspection.
