The weekend saw political observers raising the oft-repeated question “ when will the eight Congress-turned-BJP MLAs finally get their rewards for defection? Well, it’s exactly four months now since the eight MLAs led by heavyweights Diggu and Alexiobab had quit the Congress on September 14 last to embrace the saffron brigade.
Expectations were high amongst the supporters of the defectors that the leaders will be suitably rewarded by the ruling party. Defections are now new to Goan politics, but perhaps for the first time in recent political history that defectors are made to wait for the promised rewards. Any questions?
