A first half strike by Robin enabled Rovers Excel Loutolim Veterans beat Chinchinim Veterans 2-1 to sail into the quarterfinals of the Chinchinim Veterans football tournament organised by Football Lovers of Chinchinim at Church ground.
Robin put Rovers Excel into the front in the 18th minute however their joy was shortlived when Menino cancelled the lead. But later Prakash Chari struck the match winner in the 33rd minute. Stung by the setback, Chinchinim Veterans went all out and Presley Pereira’s snap shot was well saved by the rival goalkeeper.
Inacio Cardozo who played the pivotal role for Chinchinim Veterans was adjudged the man of the match.
