Arlem Sports Club beat Vijay Cricket Club by six wickets to win the 40th Nanda Lolayekar Trophy, organised by Mashem Cricket Club, on Sunday.
In the final played at Nirakar Maidan Dapot, Mashem, Arlem won the toss and elected to field. Vijay SC could not score a big total, bundled out for 160 in 32 overs. At one stage, they were 112/3 as Sherbahadur Yadav (5/30) triggered a collapse. Rajat Shet was the only batsman to resist the Arlem bowlers with a fine 63.
Arlem easily chased down the total with Rajshekhar Harikant (56) and Achit Shigwan (39) batting well to chase down the target with six wickets to spare.

For the prize distribution function, football legend Brahmanand Shankwalkar was
the chief guest. The function was presided over by Chirag Naik, Director of Commonwealth Developers “ the sponsors of the tournament, while Pashant Naik was the guest of honour. Bramhanand, while speaking on the occasion, urged the players to play the game with passion and to be disciplined to be successful. Dr Surendra Naik welcomed, while Sharendra Naik compered the function. Datta Lolayekar proposed a vote of thanks.
