MARGAO
The man in charge of the Bayan Football Ground in Kuwait, Abu Abdallah, a great supporter of Indian football died on Sunday due to illness.
Derick Gomindes, President of Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF), announced the news of his sad demise.
Abdallah, a friendly and much-admired Kuwaiti worked for Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS).
He was a regular attendee at Indian and Goan football games, especially the League finals. A great friend of ex-KIFF president Fidelis Fernandes and also of Gomindes, Abdallah helped KIFF in a number of ways apart from the ground arrangement. He admired Indians for the discipline on and off the field.
Bayan Ground in Kuwait is an artificially turfed ground where most Indian football activities are held in recent times. New season of KIFF has not yet started due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Indian football community and Goan football clubs have extended deep condolences to the bereaved family.
