A special team of Goa police detained three suspected kidnappers after a tip-off from its counterparts in Daman that the trio including a woman was hiding in Vagator. A Daman native, who was abducted by his kin and relatives, managed to free himself and report the matter to the police who in turn approached Goa police seeking assistance. Pieces said that Prakash Mali, aged 24 years was abducted from Daman prompting a police complaint with the local police station. "Three persons including his blood relation were involved in the crime. While they were travelling to Karnataka, Mali escaped from their clutches and contacted his family who reported the matter to Daman police," the source said. Daman police's intelligence report revealed he was in Belgaum and later entered Goa via road. "They were hiding in Vagator. While they were dining at a restaurant, the team of Crime Branch and Women police nabbed the three and handed their custody to Daman police," the source said.
