BICHOLIM
Bicholim police have registered an offence against two persons on charges of illegally transporting sand.
In the first incident, police arrested a truck driver, Prathamesh Mhadalkar of Mhadalkarwadi in Kudal-Maharashtra, at Mulgao-Bicholim for allegedly loading and transporting sand worth Rs 30,000 in his tipper truck without obtaining permission from authorities.
ASI Sandeep Parab Gaonkar is investigating further under the guidance of PI Rahul Naik.
In another incident, police arrested one Sunil Shemadkar, also of Kudal, on charges of transporting sand worth Rs 30,000 in his truck without permission.
Both offences have been registered under Section 379 IPC and Section 3, 38 of Goa Minor Mineral Concession rules 1985. ASI Vibhavari Gawas is investigating under the guidance of PI Rahul Naik.
