26 suspected dengue cases reported in Ponda since June

A total of 26 suspected dengue cases have been reported in Ponda area between June 1 and August 15.

According to details available with the Ponda health centre, these 26 cases include seven suspected dengue patients in Shantinagar area.

Of the 26 suspected dengue cases, 23 cases have been detected in June and July, while only 3 cases have been reported in the first fortnight of August.

The Ponda health centre has been attending to areas where dengue cases have been detected. The surveillance staff has been creating awareness about dengue as there is likelihood of an increase in the cases over the next few days.

Ponda Health Officer Dr Smita Parsekar, Sanitation Inspector Manoj Naik along with other health centre staff are visiting various places and educating people about dengue.
