Speaking to the media, Sawant said, “The AYUSH Minister is still on the HFNO machine. It will take him two to three more days to come off that support. But his condition is improving.”
Naik tested positive along with his wife on August 12. A day later, he was admitted to Manipal Hospital at Dona Paula where he has been since the last 14 days. Confusion prevailed as on Wednesday about his Covid-status after his routine RT-PCR test came back positive. The test is expected to be repeated again within a day or two. On August 24, Dean of Goa Medical College and Hospital Dr SM Bandekar had stated that Naik had tested negative for the infection.
Sawant further informed that the team of doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi who flew in to check on Naik also visited two other MLAs, MGP leader and Marcaim MLA Ramakrishna “Sudin” Dhavalikar and Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao, to review their medical treatment.
“Both Dhavalikar and Alemao are doing well. Ponda MLA Ravi Naik and Tivim MLA Nilkanth Halarnkar are in home isolation and are also well,” the Chief Minister said.
