April 29.
As many as 87 of the 117 nominations were found valid during scrutiny on Monday.
Sitting councillor Sitaram Dangui has withdrawn his nomination from Ward 2 and is out of the fray.
According to BJP block president Vishwanath Dalvi, Dangui will support the BJP-backed candidate Nagesh Priolkar from the same ward. “Dangui has withdrawn to support our candidate,” Dalvi said.
When contacted, Dangui confirmed that he is supporting Naguesh Priolkar from Ward 2.
BJP-backed sitting councilor Shanti Naik has also withdrawn her nomination from Ward 8 to make way for Preetam Naik from this ward.
While attempts to contact Shanti Naik were futile, BJP leader Sunil Desai said Preetam Naik is their candidate from Ward 8.
Meanwhile, the Returning Office for the PMC polls told media persons that process of finalising candidates was conducted smoothly.
Sandhya Kamat, general observer for the PMC elections, told media persons that process of filling nomination, scrutiny and withdrawal was conducted smoothly.
“I appeal to the candidates and public to contact us for any complaints, so that elections on April 29 are held free and fair,” Kamat said.
