The arecanuts growers and consumers extension scheme was introduced at Bhramakarmali-Sattari.
Speaking at a function organised by Omkar Krishi Yentra Udyoy (KYU) “ Nagargao, a manufacturing and research centre, KYU proprietor Sandeep Kelkar said the KYU has manufactured mini-master machine used for peeling and cutting arecanuts.
“The machine will be provided to the farmers through this scheme at subsidised rate,” he said.
Former sarpanch and present Nagargao Panch Vaman Rao Dessai complimented the manufacturer Sandeep Kelkar for introducing new technology for benefit of farmers.
“The hard work of Kelkar, who took nearly 8 years for research and manufacturing the new machine, will benefit a lot of farmers who are growing arecanuts in Sattari.”
He appealed to the farmers to derive maximum benefit from the scheme.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Sakharam Dessai, Milind Gadgil, Sumitra Nadkarni, Yeshwantrao Dessai, Yeshwantrao Sawant and Ramrao Dessai.
