DIG says he expects security guards to give their best

DIG Jaspal Singh on Saturday said he expected good service from security guards posted in all corners of the State.  
He was addressing a gathering at the passing out parade of 380 security guards at the Police Training School (PTS) in Valpoi. As many as 380 male security guards inducted into service will be deployed at various locations.  
The Goa Human Resources Development Corporation (GHRDC) has recruited over 450 staff and they were sent for a three-month training. While 380 male security guards underwent training at the Valpoi PTC, the female guards were sent for training at Belagavi. 
Stating that security guards have proved to be key in maintaining security, DIG Singh said he expected good service from the security guards across the State. 
DIG Singh congratulated the security guards for undergoing the training and expressed his gratitude to the PTS under the leadership of Principal SP Vishram Borkar. 
Earlier, DIG Singh along with PTS Principal Vishram Borkar inspected the guard of honour from the new security guards. 


Guards to get salary hike 
VALPOI: Security guards recruited through the Goa Human Resources Development Corporation (GHRDC) can expected a steep hike in their salaries from March. 
GHRDC Managing Director Madhukar Phal has said the State government has decided to hike the salaries of security guards from Rs 9,000 to Rs 16,000. 
These revised salaries are to be implemented with effect from March, said Phal, at the passing our parade in Valpoi. “This new payment structure will be implemented for all security guards,” he said.

MARGAO: In a bid to ensure better coordination between the prosecution and the police, the Director of Prosecution, Sarojini Sardinha, had a meeting with senior police officials, including SP, South Arvind Gawas, DySP Raju Raut Desai and station in-charges of the Margao, Maina-Curtorim, Colva and Cuncolim police stations.  The meeting comes a week after the Director of Prosecution carried out a routine inspection of the office of the assistant public prosecutors.…
