Goa ranks first in the country when it comes to vaccinating its citizens against the dreaded Covid. The State has around 11 lakh population who are above 18 years of age. Till date, 101898 members of the population have been fully vaccinated (both doses) and 556778 have been administered single dose.
More than 50 percent of the people in the above-18 category have taken a single dose of vaccine.
After Goa, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Kerala, Gujarat, and Delhi are the states which are in the limelight for for commendable services in the vaccination drive. The vaccination percentage in these states is less than 35.
The Tika Utsav programmes launched at various temporary and permanent stations have helped in considerable increase in vaccination of citizens. On Monday, around 15,250 people were given doses of vaccines. For the last few days, around 15,000 people on an average have been vaccinated per day.
If this rate continues, vaccination of those in above-18 group will be complete within one and half months in the state.
