Umesh Kauthankar who is contesting the ZP elections from Colvale joined the Aam Aadmi Party at a ‘Veez Andolan’ meeting that was held at Tivim on December 4 making him the third independent candidate for ZP polls joining the party.
Umesh said he was impressed with the work done by AAP in Delhi and the same facilities like uninterrupted power at a cheap rate and free water should also be supplied to Goans. “The BJP is looting the people and it has to be shown the door,” he said.
He also commented on the super up-gradation in the education sector in Delhi which has received accolades from the world over.
He said people had elected the BJP because they wanted a change from the corrupt Congress. “However, BJP has turned out to be worse than the Congress and is totally against Goa and Goans and only following what their party leaders in Delhi tell them to do,” he said.
AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre while welcoming Umesh said many others are queuing up to join the party and reiterated that they will be the main opponent to the ruling BJP at the next assembly elections. He pointed out that earlier Pundalik Dhargalkar an independent candidate for the ZP elections from Dhargal had joined AAP.
