While condemning the BJP for placing Aam Aadmi Party supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest, AAP said the BJP will fail to intimidate Kejriwal with such moves and asserted that his voice will not be suppressed.
“Just because Arvind Kejriwal stopped the Delhi stadium from being converted into a jail, the BJP using the police have now converted Kejriwal’s house into a jail and placed him under house arrest,” said AAP Goa convener Rahul Mhambre.
He disclosed that police acting at the behest of Union Home Minister Amit Shah barricaded Kejriwal’s house the moment he returned from the Singhu border on Monday where he had gone to check the facilities available for the protesting farmers.
Besides the police barricading his house, Kejriwal was also gheraoed by BJP supporters and members, he said adding that since yesterday nobody has been able to enter Kejriwal’s house nor has anybody left it. “What emergency is the country facing that an elected chief minister of a state is not allowed to get out of his house?” he asked.
