PANAJI: The Mapusa Police busted an interstate theft gang with the arrest of three persons from Rajasthan including a notorious history-sheeter.
Prime accused Juhara Ram, 24, having multiple prior offences including theft and robbery cases, was arrested along with his accomplices Narayanlal Chaudhary, 35, and Kalu Ram, 19 in a theft case at Mapusa.
The incident took place on October 31 when thieves broke into the shop between 4 and 4:10 am and decamped with Rs 2 lakh cash, SP North Akshat Kaushal said in a press statement issued today.
Complainant shop owner, Surendrasingh Bhabutsingh Purohit, filed a complaint alleging the thieves broke open the shop's rolling shutter to effect entry and commit the crime.
Kaushal stated that a police team travelled to Rajasthan, where they arrested the accused and recovered stolen cash. All three accused have been remanded to police custody by the JMFC, Mapusa.
