Law Minister Aleixo Sequeira on Saturday asked locals in Marna-Siolim to inform him if anyone demanded money in the name of the chief minister or any minister in the coastal area.
“Action will be taken against such people,” assured the minister, while interacting with locals during the Panchayat Chalo Abhiyan in Siolim constituency.
Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, sarpanchas, deputy sarpanchas and panch members and locals were present on the occasion.
Locals brought to the notice of the minister issues like noise pollution, harassment of taxi operators by traffic police, action against constructions in the coastal area, etc. The minister explained that issues which are in the court cannot be dealt with, but other issues would be considered.
The locals also put forth the demand of a playground, funds for the repairs of a bandhara at Oshel, Khazan land, illegal houses, increase in government aid for house repair, etc.
