Locals, foreigners take up cleanliness drive at Morjim

PERNEM: Authorities may have forgotten the 'Swachh Bharat' campaign in Morjim, but a group of foreigners and locals did not.

Domnic D'Souza, a youth from Narajowada-Morjim, organised a cleanliness drive at Khind-Morjim on Tuesday. Residents of Morjim along with the foreign tourists took part in the cleanliness drive.

Speaking to reporters, Congress State Vice President Babi Bagkar said the cleanliness drive was undertaken by D'Souza and appealed to people to clean their surroundings.

“Garbage has become a serious issue and action should be taken against those dumping garbage on roads,” he demanded.

75 govt schools avail national skill development courses

Over 4,000 students from nearly 75 government schools in the State are currently being trained in 15 different courses under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), a programme of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, implemented through Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
