A day after the sensational ATM burglary at Aquem-Baixo village Margao police have sought the assistance of technicians to ascertain the CCTV camera footage tampered by the miscreants, who are
at large.
Margao PI Kapil Nayak informed that the police have begun investigations into the ATM burglary. The police are pinning their hopes on the technicians to recover the CCTV footage as the camera was found tampered by the miscreants.
To a question, PI Kapil said the police had tried to find out from the neigbouring establishments and houses whether they had installed CCTV surveillance cameras around.
“We got information that one of the establishments had installed CCTV cameras, but these were not found focused in the direction of the ATM booth,” he added.
Unknown burglars had lifted away the ATM machine of Ratnakar Bank installed at a booth at Aquem-Baixo village, in the process decamping with cash of Rs 7.62 lakhs.
